  1. In 2002 a lawyer sat down with me and explained how a chapter 13 would work, they stated we must get the house appraised, and then the mortgage company must agree to this amount. Once the bankruptcy was written then there were two separate line items one for secured and one for unsecured. The final statement said that the secured had been paid in full. The lawyer said that the unsecured should be discharged. But the mortgage company says that it don’t work like that. They say we still owe the unsecured amount. Who is right. Plan was paid as obliged and discharged. Mr. W asked: Related Blogs Related Blogs on Chapter...

  4. Chapter 11 is a chapter of the United States Bankruptcy Code, which permits reorganization under the bankruptcy laws of the United States. Chapter 11 bankruptcy is available to any business, whether organized as a corporation or sole proprietorship, and to individuals, although it is most prominently used by corporate entities. In contrast, Chapter 7 governs the process of a liquidation bankruptcy, while Chapter 13 provides a reorganization process for the majority of private individuals with unsecured debts of less than $336,900.00 and secured debts of less than $1,010,650.00 as of April 1, 2007. ahem, this is politics and government. the question is about america. perhaps you’ve heard, we are deep in debt and our economy is on the verge of collapse. The answer included info that my wages could not be garnished in TX. I now need to know about NM & AZ. Considering I can’t do debt consol and would very much like to avoid bankruptcy….I am trying to put my life back together after ex husband in TX surprised me by divorcing me after 14 yrs. and then filed bankruptcy himself instead of filing as a couple (which he had told me he would do-as a couple) and in doing so dumped debts on me. Collectors who can’t collect from him are now calling me. THANKS GREATLY FOR YOUR HELP. Tracy B asked: Related Blogs Related Blogs on Alternative...
